Sue Palmer Queen of Boogie

San Diego’s Queen of Boogie Woogie, Sue Palmer, has amazed audiences all over the world with her unique style and phenomenal left hand. She delights in creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the small clubs and cafes of 1932 Paris, Harlem, West Texas and Hawaii. Her first CD, which features many of her own compositions, has been described as “full of fun, and cool enough to cause crop damage to orange groves.” Her second CD, “Soundtrack to a B Movie” was called “a steam of sultry sound.” “Live at Dizzy’s” was voted the Best Blues Album at the San Diego Music Awards, 2002-2003. “Palmer has come into her own on this wonderful new release, “In The Green Room,” 2005, with studio and live tracks redefining her rep as “just” a gifted pianist-bandleader. Palmer may now add producer and visionary to her resume.” Her 2007 release, “Sophisticated Ladies,” has won the 2008 International Blues Challenge (IBC) Award for Best Self Produced CD, awarded by the Blues Foundation in Memphis, and many think its her best album yet.

Sue & Her Motel Swing Orchestra are renowned for their highly energetic shows… …and have received rave reviews for their live performances, including the Mammoth Jazz Festival, Ocean Beach Jazz Festival, LaJolla BytheSea Concerts, KSDS Jazz Radio 88.3, and many others. Rose is an avid songwriter and has co-written music for the late, great Ray Charles. She has also recorded five original albums. Rose has sung for TV movies and specials, as well as jingles for both radio and tv.

PAUL DOUGLAS came to California from his native Virginia as a member of the group Iguana, signed to United Artists Records. He later joined fellow Virginian and Grammy award – winning artist Bruce Hornsby in his band in Los Angeles. Paul also performed in the band of multiple Grammy winner Kenny Rogers and later became a member of The First Edition when they reunited in the mid- 1990s. Paul is a multi-talented vocalist, pianist, guitarist and harmonica player and has led his own band as the opening act in concerts with Chicago,  Melissa Etheridge, Huey Lewis and many others.

In the Southern California area PAUL DOUGLAS has been the featured entertainer at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, The Island Hotel Newport Beach, The La Quinta Resort and Club,The Renaissance Esmeralda Hotel, The Hyatt Grand Champions Resort and The Citywalk at Universal Studios. Hailing from Rochester, NY, George DeMott began his musical career by receiving performance degrees from the Eastman School of Music and UC Santa Barbara. In the Opera world, he has had the privilege of performing several classic tenor roles with various opera companies, including Orlando, Glimmerglass, and several others.

George has also been the winner of several awards and competitions that include the 1993 Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition?s regional finals in Los Angeles and he was also a recipient of the National Italian-American Foundation?s Luciano Pavarotti Scholarship.

Since heading out to sea, George has had the good fortune of expanding his vocal repertoire courtesy of Crystal Cruises where he was a member of the Crystal Ensemble of Singers and Dancers. Additionally, he has been a featured Guest Entertainer aboard several cruise ships on the high seas.

George is proud to also have two CDs available. The first being SERENADE, a collection of classic tenor serenades, and most recently TWO FOR MY BABY which showcases several pop-opera favorites as well as Broadway and jazz classics.
