BIO
Andrea Walsh first started drawing when she was 4 years old and hasn’t stopped. In 1994, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art at UC San Diego. She started drawing professionally while in college, getting discovered by a friend in animation class, who booked her first paying gig at Nordstrom, drawing glamorous women after their beauty makeovers. Andrea started out in portraiture before venturing into caricature and her style is a blend of portraiture and cartoon with a strong likeness as the foundation for a cartoon portrait. Each face is unique and presents different challenges to draw, where the possibilities to caricature are endless and never the same.
Andrea draws caricatures for special events and provides unique entertainment throughout San Diego and Southern California. Andrea has been drawing professionally for over 30 years and drew caricatures as a cruise ship entertainer for years, traveling the world while drawing cherished souvenirs of the guests. Andrea was honored to be the Poolside Caricaturist for Loews Coronado Bay Resort for five years. Prior to that, she owned a retail caricature booth at Belmont Park in Mission Beach for many years. She’s a professional member of the International Society of Caricature Artists (ISCA) and has attended annual caricature conventions to learn and grow her craft.
For personalized and fun entertainment, Andrea and her team of artists would love to draw caricatures at your event to create memories and smiles!
