Voted “Best of the Desert” by the Desert Sun, Palm Springs’ favorite DJ, DJ Modgirl (AKA Kellee McQuinn) is not only the life of the party, she’s also a cover girl on magazine and billboards, a television entertainer, an award winning producer, director, lyricist and performer. Growing up as a dancer and always being the person to get the party started, music is Modgirl’s first love. Fashion and fabulous people are tied for second.
A genre chameleon, you can see (and hear) her at pretty much every major event in town. From Modernism Week to the Walk of Stars Ceremonies, to weekly residencies at Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs, the Kimpton Rowan and the Alibi, she also plays at the Palm Springs Art Museum, Air Museum, Cultural Center, Oscars. Modernism Week, Fashion Week El Paseo and too many private parties to mention. She’s headlining this year’s Palm Springs Pride and Halloween on Arenas.
As an entertainer, she’s performed at the Obama White House, Lollapalooza Kidz and the Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play and has flown across the stage as Peter Pan at the Palm Canyon Theater, is a poolside regular in the web series PS After Dark, as well as performed the world premiere of Time. Space. Energy. produced by Nickerson-Rossi. She has won a Community Leadership Award from President Obama’s Council on Fitness Sports & Nutrition, a Broken Glass Rising Star Award from Palm Springs Women in Film and Best Actress in a Musical for Peter Pan.
DJ Modgirl’s passion is evoking fun and joy and uplifting people through music. Her energy is infectious, she doesn’t miss a beat when she emcees and hosts, and her song selections bring out the boogie in everyone and she never stops dancing from behind her chrome DJ booth. She also loves playing dress up and has an outfit for every possible occasion. With DJ Modgirl at the helm, all these specialties merge, mix and mingle in perfect harmony (with a great beat, of course.)
