Tris Imboden Yacht Stars are a world class group of musicians. The underlying concept behind the group is to celebrate the timeless hits in the Yacht Rock genre, performed by the actual musicians that played them originally. Individually they are all known around the world for their recordings and live performances over each of their careers. Tris Imboden himself is responsible for playing drums on the universally known number one hit “Footloose” which sold over nine million copies worldwide and is a Grammy Award winner that was nominated for an Academy Award.
In addition to that he played on such Kenny Loggins hits as “This Is It”, “Heart to Heart”, “I’m Alright”, “Forever”, “Whenever I Call You Friend”, and “Conviction of The Heart” to name only a few. All of these are considered “essential” in the Yacht Rock genre. Imboden has also recorded hits with countless other artists in the Yacht Rock Genre including Bill Champlin, Richard Marx, Firefall, Gary Wright, Jay Ferguson, Chicago and others. Tris Imboden was a member of the band Chicago for nearly thirty years. He is the proud recipient of over 35 Gold and Platinum Records.
The individual musicians that make up the Yacht Stars have shared the stage with numerous artists who made up the entire Yacht Rock era. The Yacht Stars helped shape the Yacht Rock genre recording and performing with such artists as Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Cross, Philip Bailey, Firefall, Gary Wright, Dave Mason, Chicago Bill Champlin, Richard Marx, Al Jarreau, Earth Wind and Fire, James Ingram, Michael Bolton, John Oates, Isley Brothers, Jacksons, Olivia Newton John, Larsen-Feiten, Boz Scaggs, and many more.
