PEGGY SKOMAL HARPIST


BIO


A Southern California native, Peggy grew up in the town of Redlands where she began her musical studies in harp with Marjorie Call. Among her early accolades, she was a Redlands Bowl Young Artist recipient, a Redlands Bowl guest soloist and scholarship winner in the Miss Teenage America, California Junior Miss and Miss California pageants. Peggy attended UCLA, earning a BA in Theatre Arts and Music.

She has performed extensively in the Southern California area, appearing in movies and television, theaters, recordings, and live performances. Peggy has played for Presidents Obama and Trump, Govs. Brown and Davis, and LA Mayors from Bradley to Garcetti. Among the artists she has performed with are David Foster, Josh Groban, David Arkenstone and Verdine White. Peggy has had long-standing engagements at the Music Center Pavilion Restaurant, Long Beach Queen Mary Hotel, the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Peninsula. A current Los Angeles resident, she has delighted Southland audiences of all ages with her Celtic and Concert harp programs in which she gives the musical history and background of this unique instrument.
